About the game

Chicken Road Race is a step multiplier game from InOut Games, and it belongs to the crash family rather than the slot family. There are no reels, paylines or symbol combinations. A round is a single journey along a road divided into tiles, and the only question the game asks is how far you are willing to go before taking the money.

Movement is manual and one tile at a time. You commit a stake, pick a difficulty, and then advance step by step. Every tile you clear is a small, fixed increase in the multiplier attached to your stake, so the figure climbs in visible increments rather than sweeping upward on a curve. Because each step is a separate decision, you always know exactly what is on the table before you risk it on the next one.

Cashing out ends the round on your terms and pays the stake multiplied by the figure reached. There is no timer forcing the decision. The opposite outcome is equally blunt: one bad step ends the round immediately and the stake is lost, with nothing carried over.

Difficulty is the single most consequential setting. It changes the length of the road and the size of the ceiling at the same time, and it moves the risk of any individual step with it. Easy spreads 30 tiles and a modest 23.24x ceiling; Hardcore compresses the road to 18 tiles and raises the ceiling to 3,608,855.25x. The RTP of 95.5% does not move between them, so the choice reshapes the distribution of outcomes rather than the long-run return.

How to play

  1. Set your stake

Choose an amount between $0.01 and $100. The stake is fixed for the whole round and is what every multiplier is applied to.

  2. Choose a difficulty

Pick one of the 4 levels. This sets how many tiles the road has and how high the multiplier can climb before the road runs out.

  3. Start the round

The round opens with the multiplier at its base value and your chicken at the start of the road. Nothing is at risk until the first step is taken.

  4. Advance one tile at a time

Each step is taken deliberately. Clear a tile and the round continues; the game does not advance on its own, so there is no pressure to react at speed.

  5. Watch the multiplier build

Every cleared tile raises the multiplier by a set increment. The increase per step is larger on the harder levels, which is why a shorter road can still reach a far higher figure.

  6. Cash out when you are satisfied

Cashing out settles the round instantly and pays your stake multiplied by the figure reached. You can do this after any successful step.

  7. Or lose the round on a bad step

If a step fails, the round ends there and the stake is lost. The multiplier accumulated up to that point pays nothing, which is what makes the timing of the cash out the whole game.

These three numbers are easy to confuse, and the difference between them matters. The top multiplier of 3,608,855.25x is a theoretical ceiling: the figure reached by clearing every tile on Hardcore. It describes the length of the road, not the size of a cheque.

The maximum payout is a separate, hard limit. A round pays at most $20,000 however high the multiplier climbs. At the largest stake of $100, the cap is reached at roughly 200x, which is a small fraction of the way along the Hardcore road. Every multiplier beyond that point is decoration: the payout stops rising.

Read the ceiling as a description of the mechanic and the cap as the real limit on a win. A player who treats 3,608,855.25x as an achievable prize is reading the wrong number.

Provably fair

Chicken Road Race uses provably fair technology. InOut Games states that round outcomes are generated from cryptographic seeds using HMAC-SHA256, which means the result of a round is fixed by those seeds before play begins and cannot be altered mid-round by the operator or the studio.

The principle is a commitment made in advance. The server commits to a seed by publishing its hash before the round; your own client seed is combined with it; and once the round is settled the server seed is revealed. Re-running the same combination reproduces the same outcome, so a result that was tampered with after the fact would not match the hash published beforehand.

This is what lets you check a round instead of trusting an assurance. Where the seeds and the verification tool appear in the interface depends on the casino hosting the game, so if you intend to verify rounds, look for the fairness or seed settings in the operator's game menu before you start.

Strengths and weaknesses

Pros

  • Cash out at any step, so the player controls the risk
  • Four difficulty levels spanning 23x to over 3,600,000x
  • High 95.5% RTP for the format

Cons

  • Payout capped at $20,000, well below the headline multiplier
  • No bonus rounds, free spins or side features

Final verdict

Chicken Road Race is a well-judged variation on a format InOut Games already knows how to build. Its strengths are the 95.5% RTP, which is generous next to much of the crash category, and the fact that the player decides when a round ends. Four difficulty levels give the same mechanic four genuinely different risk profiles, which is more variety than the simplicity of the game suggests.

The limitations are equally clear. There is no feature layer at all: no bonus round, no free spins, nothing to unlock. The $20,000 cap sits far below the advertised ceiling and quietly removes the top of the range from play. And the racing dressing is presentation only, with no effect on the maths.

Against a classic slot the difference is control: you are not waiting on a spin result but choosing when to stop. Against a standard crash game the difference is pace, because the round advances only when you move and nothing is lost to a slow reaction. That makes it a good fit for players who want a fast, legible game with an explicit risk decision, and a poor fit for anyone who plays for bonus features or for the chance at a headline jackpot.
